President of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar visited the city of Trabzon, which is located on the Black Sea coast in northeastern Turkey.
Tatar announced that direct flights will be launched between Northern Cyprus and Trabzon at the beginning of March 2024.
Speaking at a press conference in Trabzon, Tatar expressed his gratitude for the hospitality extended to him and noted the importance of direct flights from the TRNC to Trabzon.
He said that Trabzon is an important and valuable city for Northern Cyprus, as many Trabzon residents settled in the TRNC after 1974.
Tatar noted that currently about 30,000 people from Trabzon live in Northern Cyprus and this number is increasing due to arriving relatives.
